2010 LEADERSHIP MIDLAND GRADUATE Telecommunicator Dave Rice attended and completed the Leadership Midland program this year. 'Leadership Midland is an amazing opportunity to learn about the community, history, current state and future plans. It is geared toward those professionals that have demonstrated that they are giving of themselves within their employer or volunteer organizations they belong to. Leadership Midland is a unique opportunity for select and limited number of individuals to learn about the community and meet others within the area they may not have the opportunity to get to know. It is a foundation for lifelong friendships and contacts within Midland both on a professional and personal basis.' 2010 TELECOMMUNICATOR OF THE YEAR The Telecommunicator of the year was awarded to supervisor John Woods. John has 9 years of service with MCCDA. He was selected for his leadership, professionalism, and supervisory skills. John displays a lot of pride and respect for this profession. He leads with and open mind and a protective spirit. His dedication to providing excellent customer service shines through in even his routine contacts. His insight, wisdom, intuitiveness and positive influences are valued and reflected in all that he does.
2009 LEADERSHIP MIDLAND GRADUATE Telecommunicator Melissa Snelling was the first MCCDA employee to attend and complete the Leadership Midland program. 'I wanted to be a part of this program to have a better understanding of the community and how it operates. I felt the program was life changing and eye opening. I believe that anyone who is interested in making Midland a better place to live and work, and someone who has a desire to lead and make a difference would benefit from this program. We are sent to trainings all the time that help us do our jobs better, but this program teaches us how to be better people overall. Best experience I have ever had, and I continue to be involved as a member of the steering committee. I cannot say enough about how beneficial this program is to me personally and to our organization.'
