TELECOMMUNICATOR OF THE YEAR FOR
2007

Our Telecommunicator of the Year for 2007 is Angela Sweebe-Ware. Angela was nominated because she has worked hard to achieve a high level of performance, not only in her everyday tasks, but in outside opportunities as well. This year she has consistently received superior scores on her monthly Quality Assurance and EMD reviews. Angela not only wants to succeed herself, but wants her team and this agency to succeed and excel. She is an excellent team player. When she sees a coworker struggling and in need of assistance she does not hesitate to help. When she sees an area of improvement for the agency, she does not hesitate to bring this to the attention of management and offer any assistance needed.

Angela is always challenging herself. She volunteers regularly to attend classes and workshops outside of work to sharpen her already keen but growing skills. Every time she attends one of these sessions, she is sure to bring back ways to improve our Center. Her ability to think outside of the box in situations like this is invaluable. She has also taken on the additonal duties and responsiblities of being a communications training officer.

This year she has decided to challenge herself and her skills by taking on some additional acting supervisor responsibilities. She has volunteered to take on the additional duty of filling Acting Team Leader duties for the Critical Incident Dispatch Team. Being on the Critical Incident Dispatch team already requires additional efforts on behalf of the entire team regularly, but Angela chose to test her skills to a higher level.

Angela is always willing to assist us whenever a large scale incident tests our department as a whole. In February of this year, we faced an ice storm that was a challenge not only for our department, but all Public Safety responders as well. Angela rose to the challenge of this event. Our Center also experienced a major storm in August where Angela took on the role of assisting all her coworkers with whatever needed to be done or accomplished.  Because of her outstanding skills and ability to think quickly and know her resources, she was invaluable.

Overall, Angela is an excellent employee, coworker, and person. She represents this agency and herself with pride and professionalism. She is a true leader amongst our staff.
